Lake sturgeon are a native fish of the Great Lakes. They are listed as threatened, endangered, or special concern in 19 of 20 states in their native range and listed as threatened in all Great Lakes Waters in Canada. Habitat loss, water pollution, and overharvest are major factors contributing to their decline in the Great Lakes. Lake sturgeon surveys in Lakes Huron and Erie will provide managers with population and habitat usage information in those systems. Collecting biological, genetic, and life history data will enable us to gain an understanding about the health of existing populations, and their habitat needs. Photo by James Boase/USFWS.

Gramma and Gramps brought three grand-daugters to the Klamath River for some Salmon fishing.
As you can see, Gramma and Gramps relaxed while the pre-teen girls showed them how to go about catching a salmon. Pony tails were swinging.
